Stencils in SMT technology
In SMT (surface mounting technology), solder paste or adhesive is currently applied to unpopulated printed circuit boards using a screen printing process with laser-cut metal stencils. SMD (surface-mounted device) screen printing will continue to dominate the series production of electronic assemblies for several years to come. SMD stencils (solder paste stencils and adhesive stencils) are an important basis for the excellent assembly of printed circuit boards. They are sometimes simply referred to as stencils.
Precision through laser cutting
Laser-cut paste printing stencils and adhesive stencils ensure consistent process quality thanks to their high degree of precision. Laser cutting of SMD stencils is fast and cost-effective. Laser stencils allow even the smallest structures for QFP, QFN, or BGA connections to be printed better and with greater accuracy.
Experience since 1993
LiMaB has been supplying SMD stencils for solder paste and adhesive printing to customers in Germany and neighboring countries since 1993. We use our laser systems to produce all standard stencil sizes. Mini or large format metal stencils are nothing unusual for us.
Diverse stencil solutions
LiMaB manufactures mini SMT stencils or SMT rework stencils for repairing BGA and fine-pitch components on already assembled circuit boards. In order to print the optimum amount of solder paste or adhesive onto the circuit boards, we offer sheet thicknesses from 75 µm to 300 µm.
Flexible data preparation
All common data formats can be processed during order preparation. The arrangement of panels in the layout, the manipulation of pads, the setting of registration marks, and laser marking on the print or squeegee side do not incur any additional costs for the customer and are a matter of course at LiMaB.
High quality standards
As with everything we do, high quality standards are our top priority in the field of SMD stencils. Clean cut edges and ground or electropolished surfaces define the appearance of LiMaB stencils.
