Precision through perfection

The beginnings (1990–1991)

LiMaB GmbH was founded in 1990, when engineer Günter Bartsch took the plunge into self-employment. He was fascinated by laser beam technology, which was still in its infancy at the time, and it went on to shape his life. He started as a one-man business at the Warnemünde Technology Center (TZW) and founded Bartsch-Lasertechnik (BALTECH). With the goal of offering laser marking services to customers from various industrial sectors in Germany, he invested in an Nd:YAG laser marking system LBI 600 from Carl Baasel Lasertechnik.
The first successes were not long in coming, so that in 1991 the company was converted into M+B Lasertechnik GmbH and subsequently renamed MB Lasersysteme GmbH.

Development of new business areas

Our customers' demands grew, and the call for precise laser-cut sheet metal parts could not be ignored. This laid the foundation for the development of the second business area, laser fine cutting.
At the same time, the idea developed that SMD metal stencils for solder paste printing could be produced faster and more cost-effectively with lasers – the third business area. We invested in an LPKF stencil laser and began producing SMD solder paste stencils and adhesive stencils in 1993.

Naming and new location (1997–1998)

In 1997, the company was renamed LiMaB® GmbH as a registered trademark. Since then, our company name has symbolized the core of our business activities: LiMaB Laserintegrierte MaterialBearbeitung GmbH.
Over time, the rented premises in the Warnemünde Technology Center (TZW) became too small. A move was inevitable. In 1998, we moved into our new company building in the Rostock Freight and Fishing Port (RFH) industrial park in Rostock-Marienehe.

Expansion and cooperation (2003–2009)

Dipl.-Ing. Günter Bartsch was constantly on the lookout for new innovative business areas. He recognized early on that laser technology would revolutionize PCB manufacturing. Together with other colleagues, he founded micro3s GmbH & Co. KG in 2003 to offer laser processing of PCBs as a service to small and medium-sized PCB manufacturers. His success proved him right.
The two companies complemented each other very well, so the takeover of micro3s GmbH & Co. KG by LiMaB GmbH in 2009 was a logical conclusion.

Part of the NORIS Group (since 2011)

LiMaB GmbH has been a member of the NORIS Group since 2011. When our company founder, Dipl.-Ing. Günter Bartsch, took his well-deserved retirement in the summer of 2013, long-time employee Dipl.-Ing. Nils Weinz took over the management of LiMaB GmbH.

Growth at the Rostock location (2019)

The continued positive development of LiMaB GmbH meant that our company building became too small. We rejected the initial plans for a new building on a greenfield site, as the current location offers many advantages due to its excellent infrastructure. As an alternative, we built an extension in 2019 to create space for new ideas.

Values and quality standards

High quality, customer focus, precision, accuracy, flexibility, and speed are the cornerstones of our success. Our customers in the electronics and PCB industry, mechanical and equipment engineering, and medical technology appreciate our reliable work as a service provider. Our DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certification reflects the high quality of our company. We are very proud of the numerous ratings our business partners have given us as an A-supplier.

Our team

Our motivated employees look forward to tackling the challenges our customers present us with every day. The LiMaB team consists of experienced employees with many years of knowledge in laser material processing and young “wild ones.” The training of our junior staff in the company and the regular training of our employees are a matter of course. By qualifying our employees and continuously investing in modern laser beam technologies and measuring systems, we will also master your requirements of today and tomorrow.
